I look forward to freedom. Freedom to me is being in control of my destiny. Freedom means having a dream and building to make that dream a reality. Freedom means that if I’m tired and need a break, I don’t have to ask anyone if I may take a rest. Freedom means that no longer will someone else dictate for me what I can have. In reality thats what a boss does, he gives you a pay rate that they deem to be fit and you adjust your life accordingly. If your boss decides to give you $14/hr, you in turn buy the things that that amount gets you and you live in the neighborhoods dictated by that pay rate. You are not in charge of your destiny. Your employer is.
On the bright side I have some events coming up, this Saturday will be a new adventure securing a spot at the Flea Market in Torrance for June 27th to sell my merchandise. (Direct selling at flea markets will be my first business venture that I’m leaving my job for) I’m super excited about new possibilities and truth be told I’m hoping that things take off great so that I can leave my job before the designated due date of September 7th. Sometimes, especially when spending too much time on social media, doubt begins to creep in my mind, I’ll admit some days I want to just throw the towel in and say fuck it, but then I get a sign, a sign that freedom is the right path. Yesterday while waiting at a crosswalk, I happened to look down at my feet and saw the following sentence plain as day and transcribed in black stencil:
If you’re brave enough to say goodbye, life will reward you with a new hello.
