I stopped getting my nails done mostly for financial reasons, getting manicures and pedicures on a weekly basis can become costly as the habit becomes addictive. Since quitting the habit I’ve learned how to paint my nails as well as a pro, even repairing my damaged nails in the process. Anywho have you ever wondered how much the “nail technicians” get paid? I have wondered for years since a friend of mine from New York mentioned to me while complaining of the higher prices here in Los Angeles, that in her hometown you could easily get a manicure for $5, I couldn’t believe it! Here in Los Angeles, you can find manicures for about $8- $12 which is not a bad deal considering how much higher they are in other cities. When I lived in Fontana, Ca almost a decade ago manicures would cost you between $17-$20.
Personally, I’ve always searched for nail salons that had exceptional nail artists but were effectively cheap, I’ve never once in my life realized that perhaps the cheapest places were possibly the worst in terms of working conditions and pay for the employees.
